, tamaño 38mm (como un dollar Morgan de Plata) y material de latón amarillo. Según los estudiosos del tema, la Hacienda San Juan Bautista estaba localizada en el barrio Indiera Alta de Maricao, con terrenos colindantes en Lares
.
La ficha data de finales de principios de los 1890s, utilizada al menos, hasta ser este tipo de ficha prohibida por el nuevo gobierno colonial Americano, como método legal de pago.
Usted recibirá una pieza similar a la de la foto, circulada en la Hacienda pero totalmente legible. Presentan desgaste, porosidad moderada y/o coloración, tiene rayazos y cantacitos,
inevitablemente normal en este tipo de material cuando ha sido conseguido en la hacienda misma a través de excavaciones y técnicas arqueológicas, aunque 99% de las veces provienen de descendientes de los dueños originales, quienes usualmente encuentran tesorillos entre la chatarra y podredumbre de viejos almacenes, o demoliendo letrinas, aljibes y casonas cayéndose en cantos
. SON REALES, importadas de coleccionistas expertos en la materia que viven en la zona y a quienes de cuando en vez les cae este tipo de material, usualmente en compra venta de antiguedades o herencias de alguien que muere.

An almud in weight (usually 1 bucket full) corresponded to 24 pounds of coffee tree berries or 7 lbs of roasted ground coffee. The size of the token is
38mm (Silver Morgan dollar sized) and thin planchet in Brass material

This Plantation had its main House and coffee harvest operations at the Indiera Alta borough of the Municipality of Maricao, but occupied extensive terrains in neighboring town of Lares as well.
This token is known to have been issued in the early 1890s, and used probably up until the American colonial authority deemed them illegal as a form of payment, at around 1902.
They were probably manufactured in Europe, as was common for the nicer looking tokens
. The tokens are moderately circulated, with porosity, stain, small nicks & scratches, but totally readable. They are
guaranteed
original of that era, from a small hoard recently discovered by a descendant of the owners from whom an antiquarian was able to get them. Each piece has been validated genuine by two subject matter experts on this subject living in the same region, and from whom I buy.
