The outer edge of the teeth bars has a groove that secures the yarn in place to keep the warps from skipping off the teeth.
The actual weaving area of this loom is 5 inches wide by 5 inches long excluding the teeth bars.
The reason for this is to give the weaver the full 5 inches wide by 5 inches long area to weave after the loom is warped.
This kit comes with 3 Weaving needles and one mini weaving sword, all that needed is the yarn and you'll be set to start your weaving project. With this little loom, you can make coasters, pot holders, small wall hangings, patches, and several other cool items.
It uses standard yarn as well as thick and bulky yarn.
