    Description

This listing is for a large antique Jewish Rosh Hashanah pop-up card from the 1890s featuring the biblical story of the Binding of Isaac by Abraham.
When folded closed the front reads in Hebrew & English "A Happy New Year". When opened up you can see Abraham holding a knife to Isaac whose hands are bound behind his back.
There is a blue and white wagon made of small blue and white flowers with 4 colorful butterflies, 2 roses and 2 doves in the background. This card is likely from Germany but it is not marked.
This card came from a collector of Judaica in Ohio that had a custom acrylic case made for this pop up card so that it could be displayed properly. The case measures 11 1/2" x 11 1/4" x 7 1/2". The case is in excellent condition.
When displayed open this card measures 9" tall x 10" across x 5 3/4" deep. This card is in wonderful condition for being a 120+ years old. The bottom support piece of paper has started to separate a little. On the back side of this pop up there is a small paper connector that has torn and the very tip of the butterfly is torn. This is a beautiful pop-up card.
