    Description

Up for sale is (1) pill gun that is white shaft with a blue tip. This is about 7-1/4" long, unlike the shorter versions you may have used. The short ones have caused me to get bit - because your hand is so close to the cat's mouth by the time you get the pill in place....this one is long enough where you have much more room, and less risk for a bite.
Also we have seen pill guns with part of the tube to have water to "chase" the pill - we advise against this, your animal is already forced to swallow a pill, if you chase it too fast the cat can aspirate (suck the water into the lungs) and you will be off to the emergency clinic....
The tip is like a rubber duck bill, pulls apart to insert a pill even if the pill is a little wider than the tip, it will expand to hold the pill.  Because it is rubber the pill will stay in place (only if the rubber tip gets wet will the pill slip out).  The only hassle is if the pill is really tiny, you have to keep the gun tip facing up till you are ready to give the pill to the cat or dog. The pill won't fall out the sides, as the sides do close (the rubber retracts).  Hint: if the pill is very small, you can always make it a little bigger by wrapping it in a tiny bit of soft cheese, or a tiny pinch of a "pill pocket" which is really just a moist (like play-doh) ball of food with a hole in the middle.  Pill pockets are great things, if you only use a little pinch then a bag will last you quite awhile, as they come in a ziploc and are easily resealed.  (See, we know all the tricks at our shelter -- haha).
The pill gun is easy to clean - remove the plunger and wash with mild soapy water and let air dry. (extremely hot water or putting in a dishwasher will most likely warp the plastic)
We also have used this for force feeding kibble, when a cat is sick, nauseous, or not hungry, you can get the food past their taste buds to avoid triggering the nausea.  10 kibbles to start, 2-3 times a day, then 20, then 30....and hopefully by then they are eating again...
This pillgun should last you about 2 years with daily use and washing, we use ours regularly and that's about the life we get out of them.  If you have kittens they love to play with the plunger, so it's a good idea to hide it from the curious ones!
Note: one trick to getting a cat to swallow after you give a pill is to blow a puff of air directly in their face - usually works quite well.
Also since the pillgun weighs less than an ounce, two of them will have the same shipping cost as just one.
Outside the US please contact me for a shipping quote.  Note: to be as "green" as possible we will often use a very small, narrow mailer to send this pillgun, because it is a small and narrow item. Please be careful cutting it out, cut across the long side of the package, so the tip is not damaged.
Due to the nature of this item, returns cannot be accepted.
    Shipping is USPS first class.
