Vintage Wm. Rogers & Son Silverplate Sauce Pot & Tray or Small Plate Wood Handle.
These two marked Wm. Rogers & Son silverplate pieces have been together for as long as I can remember, but I'm not sure if it's a marriage or if it came as a set. I'm leaning towards a marriage, but a good one.
The cauldron shaped sauce pot is marked Wm Rogers & Son 389. It measures 8.5" across with the handle and 4" without the handle. The pot portion is 3" tall and the handle is 3.75" tall, from table to handle height.
The wooden handle has some damage to the finish, please see photos. There is a small spout to pour the sauce. The whole thing needs a good cleaning, but other than the damage to the handle, it has no dents or dings or scratches.
The small round tray or plate is marked Wm Rogers & Son 388. It measures 6" across and 1/2" tall. It needs to be cleaned, but there is a small dark flaw, approx 2mm, in the very center of the plate that is in the finish and sometime tried to clean it off and scratched the area around it. The handle could easily be refinished or replaced to make this look set even nicer. Even as is, it's a lovely, useful item. Happy bidding.
